John R. Vietti, 83, of Logansport, passed away Friday, December 26, 2014 at Memorial Hospital in Logansport.
Born on August 17, 1931 in Springfield, IL he was the son of the late John J. and Esther G. (Goodwin) Vietti. On October 17, 1954 in Logansport he married Becky J. Fettig who survives.
John was the former owner and operator of John's Homestyle Hot Dog Sauce. He operated the business until 1989 and then worked for Cass County Machine and Enterprise Car Rental. John was a United States Army Veteran serving during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, the American Legion Post 60, Tipton Masonic Lodge #33 F&AM and United Commercial Travelers.
Surviving along with his wife Becky are two daughters, Gina (Greg) Maxwell, Fort Wayne; Deanna (Brian) Myers, Fishers; two sons, John A. (Jennifer) Vietti; Dean (Laura) Vietti, both of Logansport; seven grandchildren, Christian Maxwell; Drew, Madison, Marni, Matthew Myers; Trevor and Tyler Vietti.
A celebration of life will be held at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, December 30, 2014 in the Gundrum Funeral Home with Pastor Dean Fager officiating. Burial with full military graveside rites will be in the Mount Hope Cemetery, Logansport.
Visitation will be held from 3:00 - 7:00 PM on Monday.
Memorials may be made to the Cass County Humane Society or the First United Methodist Church in Logansport.
