Juanita L. Watson, 89, Logansport, died at 7:05 a.m. Saturday, May 26, 2012 at St. Vincent Hospital, Indianapolis.
Juanita was born Feb. 9, 1923 in Logansport to John and Decie (Albright) Young. She married Ernest Watson on March 31, 1946 in Logansport.
She worked for H.W. Gossard for seven years, Logansport Community School Corporation for four years, she was a teacher at Woodlawn Center for 12 years. Together with her husband they owned and operated Watson Electric.
Juanita was a 1940 graduate of Royal Center High School, she then attended Ball State University. She was a member of the Eastern Star Fidelity Chapter #58, Cross Wind United Methodist Church where she was an active member since 1950 and Wm. Paca Lodge No. 2366. She enjoyed music, traveling, being outside, gardening, cards, dancing, helping others, and spending time with her family. She had a strong faith in God.
Survivors include her husband, two daughters, Kathy (Daniel) Rice of Greenwood and Karen (Doug) Coddington of Mooresville; a grandson, Ryan (Judi) Coddington, of Indianapolis; a grandson, Darryn (Kayla) Coddington of Indianapolis; a granddaughter, Monica Coddington of Mooresville; a grandson, Alan Rice of Chicago and grandson Brett Rice of Greenwood; a great granddaughter, Kayden Coddington, of Indianapolis; and a great grandson, Camron Coddington of Indianapolis.
She was preceded in death by one son, Dennis Watson, one brother, Wayne Young, and one sister, Charlotte Adams.
Services are at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Gundrum Funeral Home with Dr. George Plasterer officiating. Burial will take place at Mount Hope Cemetery. Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Cross Wind United Methodist Church.
