Judith C. Holmes, 65, Logansport, died at 10:11 p.m. Friday, July 30, 2010, at St. Vincent Hospital, Indianapolis.

Born March 18, 1945, in Monticello, she was the daughter of Henry and Bonnietta Weaver Barnes.

She retired from Delco Electronics as a tool and die maker.

A member of U.A.W. Local 292, she enjoyed quilting, collecting, traveling and children of all ages.

She is survived by her mother, Bonnietta Carter, Burnettsville; daughter, Nancy Palker and husband Bo, Pennington, N;J.; son, Bobby Hood Jr.,Walton; son, Kenneth Holmes, Fort Wayne; daughter, Melanie See and husband Jeff, Galveston; daughter, Maria DeWitt and husband Dale, Frankfort; daughter, Melinda Rogers and husband Scott, Royal Center; son, Samuel Smith, Logansport; partner in life, Dean Smith, Logansport; brothers, Myron Barnes, Monticello, and John Barnes, Burnettsville; sisters, Carolyn Criswel and husband Dave, Idaville, and Sandra Weaver, Logansport; grandchildren, Boyd Palker, Lucas Palker, Jared Palker, all of Pennington, N.J., Rashel Hood, Walton, Nicole Smith and Josh Smith, both of Logansport; and great-grandson, Gracin Garrett, Logansport.

She was preceded by a brother, Paul Barnes; and her father, Henry Barnes.

Services are 10 a.m. Thursday at Gundrum Funeral Home with the Rev. Michael L. Williams officiating. Burial will be in Ever-Rest Memorial Park, Logansport.

Visitation is 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to Riley Children’s Hospital or St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
