June Sailors


June E. Sailors, 98, Burnettsville, died at 6:25 a.m. Sunday, May 27, 2012, at Chase Center, Logansport.

Born March 25, 1914, in Washington Township of Cass County, she was the daughter of L. C. and Lucinda (Vernon) Sharp.

She was married Sept. 7, 1935, in Walton, to Arlo Sailors, who preceded her in death Dec. 12, 1990.

June was a homemaker and had also worked in Central Supply at Logansport Memorial Hospital and also for the Trophy Shop in Burnettsville.

She was a member of Burnettsville Baptist Church and former member of Jefferson Township Extension Homemakers Club.

Surviving her are daughters, Alcena L. Marshall, Logansport, and Rita A. Dillon and husband, Stanley, Kokomo; four grandchildren, Keith Dillon, Monon, Rob Dillon and Melissa Pigg, both of Kokomo, and Scot G. Marshall, Walkerton; seven great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and several great-nieces and -nephews.

She was preceded in death by five brothers and one sister.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Gundrum Funeral Home, with the Rev. Paul Scott officiating. Burial will be in Ever-Rest Memorial Park, Logansport. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to time of services Thursday. Memorials may be made to Burnettsville Baptist Church or your favorite charity.
