Junior Short

Services for Junior Short, 78, Logansport, will be held at 10 a.m. Friday in Gundrum Funeral Home.
He died at 9:05 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 2, 2006, in his residence.
Born April 2, 1928, in Carroll County, he was the son of Venoy and Edith Locke Short. He was married July 6, 1957, in Logansport, to Nancy L. Wise, who survives.
Junior was a retired custodian and crossing guard for Logansport schools.
He attended First Church of the Nazarene and Word of Life Christian Center.
Junior also enjoyed sports and watching the Logansport Berries.
Also surviving are one son, Jim Short and his wife, Amanda, Logansport; one daughter, Debbie Deitrich, Logansport; one sister, Betty Louise Short, Logansport; three grandsons, Jason Deitrich and his wife, Amy, Lafayette, and Ryan Deitrich and his wife, Jessica, and Paul Short, all of Logansport; and one great-grandson, Jacob Ryan Deitrich, Logansport.
Four sisters and two brothers preceded in death.
Dr. Horace Smith will officiate at the services. Burial will be in St. John’s Cemetery, Logansport.
Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. today and one hour before services Friday in the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Berry Boosters and Cal Ripken Little League.
