Kathryn J. Lowes, 97, Logansport, died at 5:55 a.m. Monday, Dec. 19, 2011, at Chase Center in Logansport.
Born March 9, 1914, in Logansport, she was the daughter of Charles L. Harvey and Laura J. Barner. She was married July 18, 1937, in Logansport, to J. Bernard Lowes. He survives.
Kathryn was employed by Timberlakeâs Gift Shop for many years and later worked in the Cass County Clerkâs Office for several years.
Kathryn was a member of River of Life Christian Church, 2nd Mothers Study Club, Psi Iota Xi Sorority, Rotary Annâs and Logansport Art Association and a charter member of the Logansport Elkettes. Kathryn served 31 years as a Gray Lady at Memorial Hospital for the Cass County Red Cross.
Survivors include husband, Bernard Lowes, Logansport; son, James B. Lowes Jr. and wife, Kathleen, Decatur, Ala.; two grandchildren, Scott Lowes and wife, Krista, Clarkston, Mich., and Gretchan Roan, Decatur, Ala.; five great-grandchildren, Katie Lowes, Kelsey Lowes, Kori Lowes, Jacob Roan and Briley Terry; niece, Barbara Shideler, Franklin; and special great-niece, Martha Ann Hooton, Logansport.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Charles L. Harvey; one sister, Martha Keys Baker; and one sister-in-law, Olive Harvey.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Gundrum Funeral Home, with Pastor W. Frank Hibbard and Dr. Sam Young presiding. She will be buried in Mount Hope Cemetery, Logansport.
