Kathy D. Baker, 69 of Kokomo, passed away Saturday, October 8, 2016 in her residence.

Born on March 3, 1947 in Logansport, Indiana , she was the daughter of the late Austin A. and Helen (Riehle) Hellyer. On October 4, 1986 in Logansport she married Carl E. Baker who preceded in death on December 4, 1991.

Kathy was a retired waitress and bartender for several area restaurants and clubs. She was a former member of V.F.W Post #2772 Ladies Auxiliary and American Legion Post #0062 Auxiliary of Dennison, Texas, Kathy was also a member of the Royal Center Order of the Eastern Star #375. Those who knew Kathy were blessed. They have been touched by her love and kindness throughout her life. She was loved and will be missed by all who knew her.

Surviving Kathy is her companion of 23 years, David Deeter, Kokomo; three daughters, K. Danielle Hirschberg and husband Harmon, Logansport; Diana Snyder-Brown, Kokomo; and Dustina Hall, Logansport; five sisters, Becky (Darrell) Jenson; Karen Douglas; Bonnie McDonald, all of Logansport; Jody (Ralph) Clark, Oklahoma City, OK; Iva May Bowen and husband Leroy; Greentown, IN; six grandchildren, Daniel Snyder, Kayla Bellanca; Morgan McCall; Sarah McCall and Dillon Franklin; three great grandchildren, Colton and Benson Strayer; Olivia Bellanca.

She was preceded in death by five brothers, two sisters, one grandson, Zachary Franklin; and one great grandson, Cameron Franklin.

A celebration of life will be held at 1:30 PM on Wednesday October 12, 2016 in the Gundrum Funeral Home with Pastor Charles Riley officiating. Burial will follow in the McNeely Cemetery near Lewisburg, IN.

Visitation will be he held from Noon until the time of service on Wednesday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the Shiners' Hospitals for Children.
