Services for Kathy L. Martin, 44, Logansport will be held at 10:00 A.M. Friday at Gundrum Funeral Home.
She passed away at Caring Hands Health Care Facility at 7:15 P.M. Tuesday, August 12, 2008.
Kathy was born August 6, 1964 to Larry K. Martin and the late Marsha Martin. She was a graduate of Logansport High School, class of 1983. While in Logansport she was employed at Woodlawn Center Sheltered Workshop and participated in the Woodlawn bowling league and Special Olympics. Kathy especially enjoyed dances and other social activities at Woodlawn Center.
Kathy later resided in a group home in Winamac and was employed at Pulaski Developmental Services. She enjoyed the responsibilities and fun times that she shared with her housemates, particularly traveling and eating out.
What made Kathy especially happy was spending time with her brother Mike and her nephew and nieces.
For the past year Kathy has resided at Caring Hands Health Care Facility near Peru where she was lovingly cared for until her death.
Kathy is survived by her father and stepmother, Sherryl; her brother Michael, sister-in-law Tami, and their children Spencer, Reilly and Alia, all of Carmel; Margaret Minglin, grandmother; and Uncle John (Bonnie) Minglin all of Logansport. Aunt Carla Minglin, Terra Haute; and several cousins; Stepbrothers Eric and Curt Raderstorf of Lafayette and Logansport.
Kathy was preceded in death by her grandparents, Harry and Helen Martin; John Minglin and Uncle Walter Minglin.
Calling will be from 4 to 8 P.M. Thursday. Dr. Horace Smith and Pastor Gary Lewis will officiate at the service. Burial will be at Miami Baptist Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Peak Community Services in Logansport or Winamac or to the American Diabetes Association.
