Keith âCaptainâ Arnold Kistler, 79, Logansport, died at 9:10 p.m.
Wednesday, Nov. 9, 2011, surrounded by his family at St. Joseph Hospital in Kokomo.
Born July 29, 1932, in Cass County, he was the son of Howard C. and Stella L. Nethercutt Kistler. He was married Nov. 20, 1954, in Logansport, to Janice L. Schultz.
Keith was a lifelong trucker operating K&J Trucking, driving Friday Night Blues.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving from 1951 until 1953 during the Korean War. Keith enjoyed trucking, drinking coffee and spending time with his family.
Surviving are his wife, Janice L. Kistler, Logansport; daughters, Jolene Bell, Fulton, and Colleen Kistler and Kristen Rushinsky, both of Lafayette; sons, Steve Kistler, Lafayette, Rick Kistler, Logansport, and Kevin Kistler, South Milford; sisters, Jean Black, Alabama, and Janice Neal, Logansport; brothers, Marion Kistler, Logansport, and Charles Kistler, Dry Ridge, Ky.; 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a son, Brian Kistler; four sisters, Joan Wren, Garnet Haffey, Thelma Prentice and Maryellen Walters; and two brothers, Jim and Jay Kistler.
Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Gundrum Funeral Home followed by full military rights. Pastor Aaron Gross will officiate.
Friends may call from noon until time of services Saturday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimerâs Association.
