Services for Keith Edward Nies, 82, Royal Center, will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday in All Saints Catholic Church in Logansport.
He died at 6:55 p.m. Wednesday, June 18, 2008, at his residence.
Born March 17, 1926, in Lucerne, he was the son of Lawrence and Mable Gerlach Nies. He was married Feb. 19, 1949, in Kewanna, to Betty Jean Cookerly, who survives.
A 1944 graduate of Royal Center High School, Keith was a retired grain and dairy farmer.
He was a member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Lucerne until its closing and then became a member of All Saints Catholic Church in Logansport. Mr. Nies also enjoyed gardening and watching the Indiana Pacers and Purdue Boilermakers.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Basil and George Nies; one sister, Dorothy Renkenberger; and one daughter-in-law, Misha Nies.
Father Mike McKinney will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Gundrum Funeral Home, where a Scripture service will be held at 7 p.m.
