Kenneth L. Wilhelm, age 83, of Logansport, Indiana, died at 4:10 PM Wednesday in Millers Merry Manor Logansport, IN.
Born October 26, 1925 in Starke County, IN, he was the son of Melvin Wilhelm and Nora Fry. Kenneth married Betty J. Wilhelm on August 20, 1943 in Logansport, IN.
Kenneth retired from Kain's Motor Service. Kenneth has also worked for the Pennsylvania Railroad for several years.
Kenneth was a WW2 Army veteran serving in the Asiatic Pacific Theater and the Philiphine where he earned three Bronze Stars. He was a member of the V.F.W. Post #3790 and attended the First Church of the Nazarene. Kenneth loved to bowl, golf and work in his garden.
Surviving are wife, Betty J. Wilhelm of Logansport, IN, daughter, Peggy L. Horn and husband Larry of Kewanna, IN, daughter, Lois Jean Callaway and husband James of Logansport, IN, granddaughter, Betty Lyday and husband Steve of Indianapolis, IN, granddaughter, Beth Howard and husband Tony of Logansport, IN, grandson, Edward Callaway and wife Melissa of KY, grandson, Douglas Callaway of Logansport, IN, Sister, Freida Swihart of Plymouth, IN, 12-Great Grandchildren, Several Nieces & Nephews.
Kenneth was preceded in death by 3-Brothers, 6-Sisters and 1-grandson, Jason Horn.
Services will be held at Gundrum Funeral Home, January 31, 2009 at 10:30 AM with Dr. Horace Smith officiating. Interment will follow in the Ever-Rest Memorial Park Cemetery with full military rites.
Visitation will be held Friday, January 30, 2009 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm at the at the Gundrum Funeral Home, Logansport, Indiana.
