Services for Landon L. Turner, 69, Rockfield, will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Gundrum Funeral Home.
He died at 9:15 a.m. Friday, Aug. 15, 2008, in Hickory Creek, Lebanon.
Born Aug. 24, 1938, in LaFollette, Tenn., he was the son of James Hodge Turner and Bertha Beeler. He was married on Nov. 5, 1956, in LaFollette, Tenn., to Lilly Mae McDonald, who survives.
Landon was a retired construction worker and also retired from the Army National Guard. He was an avid hunter and fishermen. He loved to cook, garden and spend time with his family and friends.
He was a member of the Pine Grove Baptist Church in Delphi and a member of the Logansport V.F.W. Post No. 3790 and American Legion Post No. 60.
Also surviving are daughters, Vontella Schnieb and husband, Brian, Camden, Kiesta Crume and husband, Dennis, Logansport, Jean Heise and husband, Sam, Logansport, and Patricia Appleton and husband, Ron, Logansport; sons, James Turner and wife, Andrea, Indianapolis, Michael Turner and wife, Mindee, Logansport, Lee Turner and wife, Rebekah, Logansport; brothers, John Turner and wife, Charlene, Logansport, Larry Turner and wife, Teresa, LaFollette, Tenn., Hershel Turner, LaFollette; sisters, Margaret Adcock and husband, Robert, Burrows, and Mary Queener and husband, Kenneth, Burrows; 17 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
One brother, Harrison Ronnie Turner, preceded in death.
Pastor Larry Frye will officiate. Burial, with full military graveside rites, will be in Rockfield Cemetery, Rockfield.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday in the funeral home.
