Larry “Pudley” L. Dunn, 64, of Monticello, died at 10:35 a.m. on Sunday, May 23, 2010, at Clarian Arnett Hospital in Lafayette after a short fight with cancer.

He was born April 3, 1946, in Logansport, and was the son of the late Max and Juanita Dunn and the grandson of George and Arlinda Harrison. He was a 1964 graduate of Logansport High School and received his accounting degree from Indiana Business College in 1968.

Larry married Connie L. (Lancaster) Dunn on October 20, 1979.

A self-proclaimed “poor factory worker who was raised on the wrong side of the tracks”, Larry worked for 38 years at Tinnerman Palnut (formerly KLK Manufacturing, Elco Industries and Elco Textron). Upon his retirement in 2007, he was the Sr. Vice President of Operations. He served on the Logansport School Board for 15 years as well as the Cass County Family YMCA Board. Larry was actively involved with Little League (Pepsi Co) as a manager/coach for 14 years. He refereed many football and basketball games. Larry played on the Logansport Lovelies softball team as Dotty for many years. Recently, he served on the Monticello Sewer Board and worked part-time at Tall Timbers Marina, Monticello. He enjoyed golfing, bowling, running, racquetball, boating, reading and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather.

Surviving with his wife, Connie, are: two step-sons Mark (Deborah) McFatridge and Kevin (Jennifer) McFatridge, two grandchildren Ryan and Emily McFatridge and sister Shirley (Larry) Maxwell.

He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents and sister, Kay Berkshire.

Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. Thursday at Gundrum Funeral Home, Logansport. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at Gundrum Funeral Home, Logansport. Burial services will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to the American Cancer Society, the Cass County Family YMCA or donate a book to your local library in his name.
