Lavon H. Fred, 90, of Rochester, passed away Friday, March 1, 2013 in his residence.
Born August 12, 1922 he was the son of the late Claude and Blanche Martin Fred. On May 25, 1946 in Fulton, Indiana he married Frances Eloise Rouch who preceded in death on January 7, 2013.
Lavon was a retired dairy and crop farmer. He also enjoyed restoring antique tractors.
He was a WW2 United States Army Veteran, and a member of the Fulton Baptist Temple.
Surviving him are three sons, William R. (Deborah) Fred, Rochester; Phillip (Barb) Fred, Mooresville; and David H. (Julie) Fred, Kewanna; six grandchildren, Scott (Lisa) Fred, Tara (Dan) Taylor, Chris(Brettany) Fred, Alex (Julie) Fred, James (Kourtney) Fred, and Eli Fred; three great grandchildren, Megan, Ashley Fred, and Olivia Taylor.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Aline Friedrich.
A funeral service will be held at 10:30AM Tuesday, March 5, 2013 in the Fulton Baptist Temple with Rev. Bruce Russell Officiating. Burial with full military graveside rights will be held in Salem Cemetery, Fulton.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 - 8:00 PM on Monday, March 4, 2013 also in the Church.
