Leonard L. Grable

Leonard L. Grable, age 95, of Star City and formerly of Twelve Mile, passed away Wednesday October 11, 2023, in Franciscan Hospital of Lafayette.

Born September 19, 1928, in Twelve Mile, IN to the late Marvin and Helen (Bashore) Grable. On July 15, 1950, in Metea, IN he married Betty Jeane Metz who preceded in death on December 26, 1995, and on February 14, 2005, in Metea, IN he married Alberta Holcomb who survives.

Leonard was a retired farmer, assisted at Grable Vault Company and was well known for digging graves at local cemeteries in the area.  

Survivors, include his wife Alberta, one daughter, Bonnie Morrow, Marion; three grandsons, Adam (Patty) Morrow, Logansport; Brady Grable, Logansport; John Grable, Kansas; one granddaughter, Sarah K. Grable, Indianapolis; great grandson, Jacob Morrow, Logansport; great granddaughter, Brittany (Josh) Perry, Kokomo; great great grandson, Eli Perry, Kokomo; five step children; Ronald (Lisa) Holcomb, Star City; Kevin (Shannon Lyons) Holcomb, Star City; Gary (Molly) Holcomb, Royal Center; Steve Holcomb, Idaville; Pam (John Speicher) Houston, Winamac;  several step grandchildren; several step great grandchildren, two sisters, Lois Metz, Stanford, MI and Diana James, Plano, TX.

Leonard was also preceded in death by one son, Michael Grable, 3 brothers and one sister.

A celebration of life will be held at 3:00 pm Monday October 16, 2023, in the Gundrum Funeral Home with Pastor Mark Foreman officiating. Burial will follow in Metea cemetery.

A visitation will be held from 1:00 pm until the time of service on Monday at the funeral home.
