Services for Letha M. âNeherâ Sheets, 71, Twelve Mile, will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Gundrum Funeral Home.
She died at 9:25 p.m. Friday, April 25, 2008, in St. Vincent Hospice, Indianapolis.
Born Sept. 7, 1936, in Logansport, she was the daughter of Mathias Gaumer and Gertrude L. Rombold. She was married Dec. 21, 1951, in Logansport, to Billy "Bill" E. Neher, who preceded in death May 4, 1995. She was married July 15, 2000, in Logansport, to Doyle Sheets, who preceded in death Feb. 5, 2006.
Letha retired from White Rogers in 1995 after 33 years of service.
She was a member of Bethlehem United Methodist Church, Twelve Mile, VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post No. 3790, American Legion Post No. 60 Ladies Auxiliary, Moose Ladies Auxiliary, Eagles Ladies Auxiliary and was an Elkette.
Survivors include her daughter Betty L. Guess and husband, John, Logansport; two sons, Larry D. Neher and wife, Rose, Rex, Ga., Gary L. Neher and wife, Patty, French Lick; brother, Ronald E. Gaumer, Rochester; granddaughter, Billy Jo Boles and husband, Kenneth, Logansport; four grandsons, John A. Guess II, Logansport, Samuel Neher and wife, Jennifer, Cranston, R.I., Chad Neher and wife, Sue, and Christopher Neher, all of French Lick; step-son Ronald Sheets and wife, Debra, Fulton; step-daughters, Debra Fale and husband, Al, Lucerne, Tina Quick and husband, Jeff, Michigantown, and Kris Freshour and husband, Matt, Logansport; sister-in-law, Donna Kelley and husband, Marvin, Twelve Mile; nine great-grandchildren; 11 step-grandchildren; and nine step-great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by three sisters, Lou Hall, Silvia Hunt, and Hazel Cassman; and one brother, Charles Gaumer.
Friends may call from 2:30 to 7 p.m. Monday in the funeral home. A VFW service will take place at 6 p.m. Monday.
Pastor Teri White will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery, Logansport.
