Lewis F. Markley, 91, Logansport, passed away at 9:05AM, Thursday, August 29, 2013 in his residence.
He was born on January 5, 1922 in Pulaski County to the late Frank N. and Bessie Mae (Gardner) Markley.
On October 18, 1944 he married Lois Bruce who passed away April 14, 1998. He later married Rosanna Callender on June 30, 2000, who survives.
Lewis was a WW2 Veteran serving in the U.S. Air Force. He was a retired farmer, loved to fly his plane and was a member of the Flying Farmers Association. He enjoyed fishing, including trips to Wisconsin and deep sea fishing, with his nephew, Tom Alber, in Puerta Lobos, Mexico.
Other survivors include one daughter, Sue (Ron) Lowe,Metea; sister-in-law, Ruth Reed, Kewanna; two step-sons, Don Callender, Beaverton,OR and Mark Callender, Twelve Mile; three grandsons, David (Noreen) Brumett, Logansport, Tom Brumett, Calif. and Brian (Heather) Markley, North Carolina; Two Granddaughters, Tami Marcheski, Virginia and Nicole (Mike) Pit, North Carolina; two step-grandsons, two step- granddaughters and thirteen great grandchildren; two sisters, Vieve Kelsey and Juanita Alber, both of Chandler, AZ; Several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one granddaughter, one son, Daniel Lewis Markley and three sisters, Mary Zeider, Helen Wingham and Maude Hiland.
A celebration of life for Lewis F. Markley will be held on Sunday, September 1, 2013 @ 1:30 PM in Gundrum Funeral Home with burial in the Ever-Rest Memorial Park cemetery, with full military rites.
Visitation will be from 4 - 7 pm Saturday, August 31, 2013 and 1-hour prior to services on Sunday.
