Lois Babb

Lois Babb, 77, Logansport, died at 8:10 p.m. Monday, Dec. 14, 2009, in St. Vincent Heart Center of Indiana, Indianapolis.

Born Feb. 19, 1932, in Carroll County, she was the daughter of Gilbert William and Velma Irene Hershberger Gates. She was married June 17, 1951, in Logansport, to Richard A. “Dick” Babb, who preceded in death May 27, 2008.

Lois retired in 1994 from Federal Mogul after 35 years of service.

She was a member of Crooked Creek Christian Church, member and Past Worthy Matron of Royal Center Order of Eastern Star, member of Hillbilly Clan 14 and was a former member of the Eagles Lodge 323 Ladies Auxiliary.

Surviving are son, Mitchell McFatridge and wife, Cathy, Sycamore, Ill.; brother, Gilbert G. Gates and wife, JoAnn, Kewanna; and four grandchildren, Sarah, Rachel, Meaghan and Eryn McFactridge.

She was preceded in death by one sister, Shirley Chilcutt.

Graveside services will be at noon today at Davis Cemetery in Burnettsville with Pastor Adrian Whitlock officiating.

There will be no visitation.

Memorials may be made to the Shrine Hospitals for Children.

Gundrum Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
