Lois Jackie Stephenson
Services for Lois Jackie Stephenson, 74, Logansport, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday in Gundrum Funeral Home.
She died at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 28, 2006, in her daughterâs residence in Logansport.
Born Feb. 18, 1932, in Tipton, she was the daughter of Ira and Martell Kirby Crawford. She was married Sept. 30, 1950, in Logansport, to Bernard W. Stephenson, who preceded in death Jan. 27, 1985.
Mrs. Stephenson was the former owner of Ja-Le Maternity Shop. She also had worked at Bettyâs Balcony and Controls.
She was a member of Anoka United Methodist Church, American Legion Post #60 Auxiliary, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #3790 Auxiliary and a member of the U.A.W.
She enjoyed cooking, gardening, reading, watching Notre Dame and Ohio State football, and was an avid Cubs fan.
Surviving are one daughter, Cynthia L. Newman, Logansport; a granddaughter, Jaclyn Newman, Logansport; two sisters, Deanna Forker, Logansport, and Kandy Carr and her husband, Rich, Nevada; several nieces and nephews; and the family K-9 Shamon.
Two brothers, Richard Crawford and Robert Crawford, and one sister, Betty Heater, preceded in death.
The Rev. Jim Abbott will officiate at the services. Burial will be in Ever-Rest Memorial Park.
Friends may call from 1 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
