Lottie Hood

Lottie R. Hood, 96, Logansport, died at 12:25 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 19, 2010, in Chase Center in Logansport.

Born Nov. 17, 1913, in Clinton County, she was the daughter of T.E. and Grace Earlywine Shoemaker. She was married April 2, 1930, in Greencastle, to Walker O. Hood, who preceded in death Sept. 30, 1996.

Lottie was retired from the Logansport State Hospital.

She attended Cross-Wind United Methodist Church.

Surviving are sons, Jack L. Hood and wife Betty, Maryville, Tenn., and Larry P. Hood and wife Phyllis, Logansport; sister, Minnie Payne, Middletown; six grandchildren, Mike Hood and wife Terry, Hillsboro, Tenn., Nancy LaDue and husband Brian, Kokomo, Janet Hood, New Orleans, Shawna Wilson and husband Scott, Logansport, Larry Brian Hood and wife Lisa, Logansport, and Jill Ann Cobbs and husband, Kent, Westfield; 19 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by one grandson and two brothers.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Gundrum Funeral Home, with Pastor Brent Kirby officiating.

Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today and one hour before services Thursday at the funeral home.
