Louis Max Sherman, 80, of Logansport passed away with his family by his side on Friday, October 8, 2021 at 4:34 pm.
Born August 18, 1941 in Logansport, Louis was the son of Dorothy and Clarence Eugene Sherman.
Louis attended Logansport High School and served in the army from 1960-1963 as an E-4 Specialist and mechanic in Germany and served his last seven months in Colorado Springs at Fort Carson.
Upon returning from the army, Louis was employed by General Tire and Rubber Company for over 40 years through all of its transitions until the plant closed in 2004.
Louis attended Lifegate Church. He was an avid golfer, enjoyed hunting, fishing, mushroom hunting, and he loved Notre Dame football, the Chicago Bears, and IU basketball. He was also a member of the Elks Lodge #66, Moose Lodge #232 and William Paca Lodge.
He is survived by his son Dean Allen Sherman (Melissa) Royal Center and Karina Fauble (Paul), Burlington and nine grandchildren Josh Babb (Shydale Hedge), Nicholas Fauble (Brooke) Macon, GA, Zachary Babb, Royal Center, Amanda Pickford (Caylan) Tecumseh, MI , Tyler Sherman (Lindsey) Lafayette, Amber Lemieux (Dustin) Chattahoochee, FL , Ashley Pruiett (Taylor) Quincy, FL , Ryan Fauble and Reece Fauble, Muncie. He also was great-grandpa to five grandchildren, Liam Timm, Connor Pickford, Jaxon Pickford, Dallas Lemieux, and Dax Lemieux.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Thomas Lee and David Sherman, and one sister, Margaret Creighbaum
A celebration of life service will be held at 10:00 am Thursday October 14, 2021 in the Gundrum Funeral Home with Pastor Andy Weil officiating. Burial will with full military graveside rites will be at Ever-Rest Memorial Park Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 3 – 7 pm Wednesday October 13, 2021, in the Gundrum Funeral Home.
