Lowell L. Hoehne, 87, Lafayette, died at 1:40 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 6, 2010, at the Indiana Veterans Home in Lafayette.

He was born Aug. 7, 1923, in Twelve Mile to Paul Hoehne and Nellie Skinner Hoehne. He was married to Anita J. Easter on Jan. 4, 1948, in Twelve Mile.

He was a farmer and a school bus driver. He was a 1942 graduate of Fulton High School. He was also a World War II Army Air Corps veteran. He was a member of Fulton Baptist Church for 55 years and has currently been a member of Faith Baptist Church of Lafayette.

Lowell was an avid gun collector and enjoyed target shooting. He also taught his grandchildren his hobby, and they became very interested in it as well.

He is survived by, wife, Anita Hoehne, Lafayette; daughters Ruth Ann Rudicel and husband, Bob, Lafayette, and Beth Fretz and husband, Pastor Jay, Waynesboro, Pa.; son, John Hoehne and wife, Cathy, Columbus; grandchildren, Mike Rudicel and wife, Sheri, Peru, Joy Spitznogle and husband, Brian, Lafayette; Jill Taylor and husband, Jason, Denver, Colo., Mark Rudicel and wife, Jamie, Lafayette, Rachel Gannon and husband, Andrew, Brookville, Ohio, Joshua Fretz and wife, Alexis, Greenville, Pa., Matthew Hoehne and wife, Katie, Little Rock, Ark., and Amber Silberman and husband, Brian, Lexington, Ky.; great-grandchildren, Austin and Kayla Rudicel, Alexis, Cole and Abigail Spitznogle, Jackson and Jordyn Taylor and Michayla and Emma Fretz; brother, Owen Hoehne and wife, Marilou, Sun City, Ariz.; and sister, Harriet Zartman, Macy.

He was preceded in death by brother, Lee Roy Hoehne; and brother-in-law, Bud Zartman.

Services are 10 a.m. Friday at Gundrum Funeral Home with the Rev. Bruce Russell officiating.

Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Fulton Cemetery with full military graveside rites.

Memorials may be made to Fulton Baptist Temple or Faith Baptist Church of Lafayette.
