Margaret M. Hunter, 84, Logansport, died at 5:17 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 17, 2010, in her residence.
Born Dec. 23, 1925, in Logansport, she was the daughter of Ora J. Harrison and Adda Freeman. She was married Dec. 8, 1954, in Rochester, to Charles E. âBillâ Hunter, who preceded in death Oct. 17, 1988.
Margaret was a homemaker and had worked as a cook for the Logansport High School cafeteria.
She was a member of River of Life Christian Church and the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed gardening, cooking and sewing. She was a part-time nanny, and a mentor to several nieces and nephews. They owned and operated Hunterâs Grocery Store on Clifton Avenue.
Surviving are son, James E. Hunter, Logansport; granddaughter, Jenni Logan and husband Xaun, Logansport; great-granddaughter, Amanda Murray, West Lafayette; great-grandson, Ozzy Murray, Logansport; sister, Vera Berkshire and husband Donald, Mesa, Ariz.; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Larry Hunter and Ruth Ann, Rochester; sisters-in-law, Peggy Elinger, Rochester, and Ruth Zartman, Plymouth; several nieces and nephews; and extended family, Lola, Brad and Emily Van Dyke.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Jack, Bill and Leonard Harrison; and one sister, Bettie Corcoran.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Gundrum Funeral Home with the Rev. W. Frank Hibbard officiating.
Burial will be in Moon Cemetery, Kewanna.
Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
