Martha Peter

Martha "Viola" Peter, 86, of Logansport, passed away on Wednesday, February 19, 2014, at Memorial Hospital in Logansport.

Born on January 1, 1928 in Cass County, she was the daughter of the late Daniel and Martha (King) Dillman. On November 23, 1947 in Cass County she married Frederick L. Peter who survives.

Viola worked at Singer Dry Goods in Peru. She was a 1946 graduate of Twelve Mile High School. Viola was a member of Corinth Brethren Church and the Women Ministry Society. She was a 4-H leader for many years, and enjoyed sewing, gardening, and growing flowers.

Surviving along with her husband is one son, Dennis (Becky) Peter, Macy; daughter, Melanie (Tony) Wickersham, Kokomo; three granddaughters, Jennifer Schwartz, Alaska; Amanda (Jim) Short, Logansport; Trista (Jason) Ennis, Delphi, IN; three grandsons, Tad and Lake Wickersham, and Bryce Nolen, all of Kokomo; three great granddaughters, Madison & Marissa Ennis, Delphi, IN; and Shelia Schwartz, Alaska; two great grandsons, Kaleb Ennis, Delphi; and Paul Short, Logansport.

She was preceded in death by one daughter, Marcia Cook.
A funeral service will be held at 10:30 AM, Saturday, February 22, 2014 in the Gundrum Funeral Home with Pastor Ben Pippen officiating. Burial will be in the Corinth Brethren Cemetery in Twelve Mile.

Visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 PM on Friday, February 21, 2014 also in the funeral home.
