A celebration of life service for Martin âMartyâ Thomas Herrell, 59, Logansport, will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Cross-Wind United Methodist Church.
He died at 3:38 p.m. Friday, March 2, 2007, in St. Vincent Hospital, Indianapolis.
Born May 26, 1947, in Wabash, he was the son of Robert and Marie Martin Herrell. On Aug. 14, 1971, he was married in Wabash to Cathy M. Poole, who survives.
A retired pharmacist, he was a 1978 graduate of Purdue University. He served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam from 1966 to 1967 after graduating from Wabash High School in 1965.
He was a member of Cross-Wind United Methodist Church and was an Upward Soccer volunteer. His memberships also included the Northeast Emmaus Community and the Water & Spirit Gospel Quartet.
Marty enjoyed golf, music and computer technology. He was an avid storyteller and enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
Also surviving are two daughters, Amanda Herrell, Manchester, Conn., and Mackenzie Herrell, Orlando, Fla.; his father, Robert, and his wife, Beverly D.L., Tampa, Fla.; a sister, Celia Briggs, Wabash; a niece, Susan Briggs, Indianapolis; and a nephew, Andy Briggs, Biloxi, Miss.
Friends may call from 2 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Gundrum Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at the church. The Rev. Gary Lewis will officiate the service.
