Mary Beckman

Services for Onie Beckman, 82, Logansport, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday in Gundrum Funeral Home.

She died at 12:20 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 21, 2009, in Chase Center. Born Oct. 23, 1926, in Paoli, IN, she was the daughter of John A. and Della F. Alvey Horton.

She was married Jan. 8, 1944, in Paoli, IN to John H. Beckman, who preceded her in death July 11, 1986.

Onie was a homemaker and former manager of the restaurant for the Pennsylvania Railroad.

Surviving are sons, Rob Beckman and wife, Linda, Rochester, and John Beckman, Kokomo; brother, Essie Horton, Cicero; sisters, Jenny King and husband, Dempsey, Cicero, and Bea Bollinger, Moline, Ill.; grandson, David Beckman and wife, Sirena, Westfield; granddaughter, Tamy Hoover, Logansport; and great-grandson, Alex Beckman, Westfield.

She was preceded in death by one daughter, Pamela D. Hoover; two brothers, John and Robert “Bud” Horton; and three sisters, Doris Beckman, Louise Knight and Flossie Jo Horton.

Pastor Fritz L. Siddall will officiate. Burial will be in Ever-Rest Memorial Park.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
