Mary Bickell

Mary was born December 21, 1924 in Logansport, IN to Blantz & Gertrude Rynearson. Mary graduated from Logansport High School in 1943. On May 29, 1943 she married Bernard Jay Bickell, who preceded her in death on March 29, 2008. Mary worked for many years at the R.B.M. in Logansport before moving to Muncie, IN with her family in 1965. In Muncie, she worked as a bookkeeper at Earnest Greenhouse and Frank’s Foundry. Mary was a member of the former Ninth Street Christian Church in Logansport and attended the Hazelwood Christian Church in Muncie. She enjoyed traveling, reading and sewing. In retirement, Mary moved with her husband to Travelers Rest, SC where they lived until her husband’s death in 2008. Mary then moved to Colorado in July of this year to be close to her family.
Surviving are a son, Kent Bickell (wife Janice) of 14542 Inca Ct. Westminster, CO; grandchildren, Hannah Heuser (husband Jeff) of Murfreesboro, TN, 1st Lieutenant David Bickell (wife Judith) of Clarksville, TN (David is currently serving his country in Afghanistan), Noah Bickell of Indianapolis and Sarah Fladeland (husband R.J.) of Indianapolis.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. Tuesday, December 30, 2008 @ the Gundrum Funeral Home in Logansport, IN with burial following in the Mount Hope Cemetery. Pastor W. Frank Hibbard will officiate at the service and the family will receive friends from 9:30 until time of services Tuesday.
