Mary Burrous

Mary Alice Burrous, 98, of Logansport, passed away on Wednesday, January 29, 2014 at 6:50 AM in Woodbridge Health Campus, Logansport, IN.

Born August 1, 1915 in Cass County, IN, she was the daughter of the late Earl E. and Jessie (Crook) Helvie.

Alice was married on February 25, 1934 in Walton, IN to Wilmer H. Burrous who preceded in death on January 14, 1996.

She was a homemaker who was active in the community serving 50 years as a member of the Walton Order of Eastern Star. She was also a member of the Cross Wind United Methodist Church and the Cass County Farm Bureau.

Surviving are three daughters, Shelby J. Ridenour, Logansport, IN; Melody Ann Shaffer, Concord, NH; Joetta Burrous, Frankfort, IN; three grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

One grandson, Steven Ridenour, preceded her in death.

A celebration of life for Alice will be held at 6:00PM, Friday January 31, 2014 in the Gundrum Funeral Home with Dr. George Plasterer Officiating.

A private burial will be held in the Walton I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Walton, IN.

Visitation will be from 3:00PM till 6:00PM on Friday, January 31, 2014 at Gundrum Funeral Home.
