Mary "Joan" Combs, 79, of Logansport passed away Tuesday, May 6, 2014 at Memorial Hospital in Logansport.

Born on May 31, 1934 in Sandborn, Indiana, she was the daughter of the late Lawrence Oren and Margaret Sarah (Crane) Page. On August 12, 1950 at Grace Fellowship Church in Logansport she married Roscoe "Jack" Combs who survives.

Joan was a retired Master Cosmetologist.

She attended Logansport High School in 1948 until dropping out her sophomore year to become a wife and mother. Joan then returned and graduated with the Onward High School class of 1963. Joan was a world traveler; she enjoyed hummingbirds, collecting angel figurines, and fine china. She took great pride in giving her time and efforts to The Salvation Army. Her Spiritual life was an important part of her daily life. Joan's grandchildren and great grandchildren were her joy, and she also enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

Surviving along with her husband are two sons, John (Lana) Combs; and Dr. Sam E. Combs Ph.D. (retired); daughter, Joyce Combs & companion Duane Chapman, all of Logansport; three grandsons, John Isaac Mason Combs, Colorado; Michael Dyer, Logansport; Matthew Dyer, Stockwell, IN; three granddaughters, Jennaca E. Combs & Fiance Nick Keeler, Galveston; Janell M. (Bryan) Lee, Deer Creek, IN; Jenay M. (Charles)Hoover, Logansport; four great granddaughters, Jenna M. Lee & Fiance Colton Martin; Erica I. Lee, both of Deer Creek, IN; Shannon L. Dyer, Logansport; Sydnye N. Combs, Galveston; five great grandsons, Levi M. Dyer, Logansport; Nicholas Dyer, Stockwell, IN; Aaron Hoover; Zachary Hoover; and Jacob Hoover, all of Logansport; great great granddaughter, Brinlee M. Martin, Deer Creek, IN; sister, June Martin (Speed) Hardy, Logansport; brother, William Theodore Page, South Bend, IN; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by one son, James Owen Combs; brother, Big John Page; and two sisters, Violet Ciesielski and Lola (Feick) Melampy.

A celebration of life will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, May 10, 2014 in the Gundrum Funeral Home with Major Rose Eagle officiating. Burial will be in Ever-Rest Memorial Park, Logansport.

Visitation will be held from 3:00 - 7:00 PM on Friday also in the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to The Logansport Salvation Army.
