Mary Jeanette Hitchens, 88, of Fenton, MO, formerly of Logansport, passed away Tuesday, February 6, 2018 in her residence.
Born on October 31, 1929 in Newton County, Indiana, she was the daughter to the late Raymond J. and Edna M. (Richert) Sims. On November 23, 1949 in Logansport she married Raymond A. Hitchens who preceded in death on February 6, 2013.
Mary was a homemaker. She was a member of Calvary Presbyterian Church, Logansport Tourist Club and the Cass County Republican Women.
Surviving is a daughter, Debra K. Wicker, Fenton, MO; a son, Kent A. (Anita) Hitchens, Carlsbad, New Mexico; brother, George C. Sims, Valparaiso, IN; two grandchildren, five step grandchildren, seven step great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers.
A celebration of life will be held at 5:30 PM on Thursday, March 22, 2018 at Calvary Presbyterian Church in Logansport with Pastor Chuck Compton officiating.
Visitation will be held from 3:00 PM until the time of service on March 22, 2018 also in the Calvary Presbyterian Church.
Mary’s request was to have her body donated to science at Logan University.
Memorials may be made to the Calvary Presbyterian Church Scholarship Foundation.
