LOGANSPORT — Mary K. Hughes, 82, Logansport, died at 7:05 p.m. Thursday, June 9, 2011, at WoodBridge Health Campus.

Born April 6, 1929, in Cass County, she was the daughter of Paul W. and Erma M. Segraves Black. She was married Jan. 19, 1985, in Logansport, to Robert L. Hughes, who survives.

Mary retired from Woolworth Company in 1979 after 10 years as a personnel supervisor. She then went to work for The Burger Barn until she retired in 1987.

Mary was a life member of the VFW Post 3790 Ladies Auxiliary and a member of American Legion Post 60 Ladies Auxiliary. Mary enjoyed flowers, birds and doing ceramics.

Surviving are husband, Robert L. Hughes, Logansport; sons, Ronald Allen, Goshen, and John English and wife, Susan, Switz City; daughter, Debra Toon and husband, Bobby, Royal Center; stepsons, Thomas Hughes and wife, Brenda, LaPaz, and Daniel Hughes, Logansport; sister, Sue Stratton and husband, John, Acton, Calif.; 11 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.

Private services will be held at a later date. There will be no visitation.

Memorial contributions may be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children.
