Mary L. Hurd, 89, of Logansport passed away Thursday, October 22, 2015 at Woodbridge Health Campus in Logansport.
Born on November 15, 1925 in Logansport, she was the daughter of the late Roy E. and Blanche (Peter) Johnson. On January 27, 1951 in Young America, IN she married Robert E. Hurd who preceded in death on November 8, 2004.
Mary retired in 1988 from Gangloff & Downham Trucking Company as office secretary.
Mary was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star of Indiana (Royal Center Chapter), Niddee Shrine Guild, Smiles Unlimited Clowns, Hillbilly's Clan #14, and American Legion Post #60 Ladies Auxiliary.
Surviving is a daughter, Connie Schwering, Logansport; seven grandchildren, Trevor Hull; Michelle Seruntine; Doreen (Greg) Staines; Shelly (Mark) Glassburn; Deanna (Brian) Campbell; Jennifer Ebey; and Christopher Hurd; thirteen great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Linda Hull; one son, Robert P. Hurd; three brothers and one sister.
A celebration of life will be held at 2:30 PM on Sunday, October 25, 2015 in the Gundrum Funeral Home with Pastor Scott Halterman officiating. Burial will be in the Center Cemetery, Young America, IN.
Visitation will be held from 1:00 PM until the time of services on Sunday.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Shriners Hospitals for Children.
