Mary Moss

Mary Jean Moss, 58, Dallas, Texas and formerly of Logansport passed away Friday July 10, 2020, at The Villages of Lake Highlands in Dallas, Texas.  She was born August 20, 1961 in Logansport to William W. and Wilma Jean Moss who both preced in death.  Mary graduated in 1979 from Caston High School,  she went on to graduate with honors from Purdue University in 1983 with a degree in Elementary Education. She furthered her education receiving a Masters degree from East Texas State in Commerce, TX.  Mary taught for the Dallas Independent School District in grades 1-6 from 1984-2008. She retired from teaching in 2009.   Mary enjoyed traveling, collecting figurines, drawing, researching family ancestry, going to movies, reading, collecting children’s books and doing author studies.
Surviving are two sisters, Martha (Michael) King, Midlothian, TX and Margaret “Molly” Moss ( fiancé Charles Cook), Denton, TX;  niece Emily King, nephew Michael W. King, both of Nacadoches, TX; Uncle, Dr. James H. (Dianne)Moss, Dekalb, IL; four cousins; Uncle Marion Davis, Los Alamitos, CA and 2 cousins.
A celebration of life will be held at a later time in Logansport.  Gundrum Funeral Home has been entrusted with handling arrangements. Contributions may be made to the Cass County Purdue Alumni College Scholarship program.
