Services for Mary Katherine McKaig, 86, Logansport, will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in Shiloh Christian Church.

She died at 10:45 p.m. Sunday, April 5, 2009, in Logansport.

Born March 9, 1923, in Clinton Township in Logansport, she was the daughter of Homer Laurel and Ruth Twells Reed. She was married May 19, 1946, in St. Lukes Lutheran Church in Logansport to Allen R. McKaig, who survives.

Mary Kay retired as the co-owner and office manager for McKaig LP Gas. She also worked in the Cass County courthouse for over 20 years.

She was a member of Webb Chapel United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the choir. She also was a member of PEO Sisterhood Chapter BV, a Noble Township 4-H Leader and a Rural Youth Member. Mary Kay was a 1941 graduate of Logansport High School. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed Gaither and Gospel music as well as traveling, cooking and gardening.

Also surviving are daughter, Christina Sinclair and husband, Jay, Indianapolis; son, Pastor Tim McKaig and wife, Annetta, Logansport; brother, Don Reed, Columbia City; grandchildren, Scott Sinclair and wife, Amanda, Chad Sinclair, Jennifer McKaig and Katelyn McKaig.

She was preceded in death by one daughter, Mary Lou McKaig.

The Revs. Richard Frederick and Bill Bergstrom will officiate. Burial will be in Shiloh Cemetery.

Friends may call from 1 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Gundrum Funeral Home and one hour before services Thursday at the church.

Memorials may be made to the Shiloh Building Fund or Webb Chapel.
