February 17, 1931 - March 9, 2013

Mary "Jane" Slusser, 82, of Logansport, passed away at 11:25 AM Saturday, March 9, 2013 at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis.
Born February 17, 1931 in Carroll County, she was the daughter of the late Jay and Opal Lois Gray Appleton. On April 25, 1953 in Clymer's, IN she married Bernard T. Slusser who survives.
Jane was a homemaker, a devoted farmers wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was a 1949 graduate of Deer Creek High School, member of the Main Street United Methodist Church, J.O.Y. Sunday School Class, United Methodist Women, 40-40 Home Economics Club, Clinton Township Home Economics Club, member of the Golden Girls Red Hatters and T.O.P.S
Surviving, along with her husband are two daughters, Julee (Tim) Chambers, and Lindy Shafer and special friend Dave Schlick; one son, Rex (Toni) Slusser, all of Logansport; Sister, Kathleen Michael, Camden; two brothers, Charles (Carolyn) Appleton, Burrows; and Harold (Marcia) Appleton, Walton; three sister-in-laws, Jean Appleton, Delphi; Shelby Appleton, Logansport and Mary Ann Downhour, Walton; seven grandchildren, Brent (Allison) Chambers, Brandon Chambers, Ren Shafer, Ross Shafer, Shane Slusser, Sheldon Slusser, and Seth Slusser; two great grandchildren, Abigail and Audrey Chambers; two special girls, Kaelyn and Kendra Schilck; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Robert, Joe and Thomas Appleton.
A funeral service will be held at10:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 13, 2013 in the Gundrum Funeral Home with Pastor Tom DeFries officiating. Burial will be in Rock Creek Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 3 -8 p.m. Tuesday, March 12, 2013 in The Gundrum Funeral Home
Memorial contributions may be made to the Main Street United Methodist Church or the Alzheimer's Foundation.
