Services for Mary Ellen Walters, 65, Logansport, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in Gundrum Funeral Home.
She died at 9 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 8, 2006, in her residence.
Born Sept. 12, 1940, in Cass County, she was the daughter of Howard C. and Stella L. Nethercutt Kistler. She was married July 12, 1956, in Logansport, to Dudley L. Walters, who survives.
Mrs. Walters was a homemaker and former employee of the Logansport State Hospital, General Tire and Small Parts.
Mary loved gardening and took pride in taking care of her yard. She also loved traveling in her R.V. and keeping busy around the house. Mary was very family oriented and was described as being the glue that held the family together.
Also surviving are one daughter, Denise Walters and her fiancé, John Kobe, Twelve Mile; two sons, Rusty Walters and his wife, Cindy, and Maverick Walters and his fiancé, Deb Walker, all of Logansport; three sisters, Janice Neal and Joan Wren and her husband, Joe, all of Logansport, and Jean Black, Opalika, Ala.; three brothers, Keith Kistler and his wife, Jan, and Marion Kistler and his wife, Connie, all of Logansport, and Charles Kistler and his wife, Fran, Dry Ridge, Ky.; one daughter-in-law, Jaunice Walters, Logansport; grandchildren, Michael Walters, Twelve Mile, Cassie Walters, Indianapolis, and Natasha Walters, Chicago, Ill.; and the family canine, Brandy.
One son, Cris Allen Walters, two sisters, Garnett Hafey and Thelma Prentice, and two brothers, Jim Kistler and Jay Kistler, preceded in death.
Pastor Tom McShannock will officiate at the services. Burial will be in Pisgah Cemetery, Logansport.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday and one hour before services Saturday at the funeral home.
