Maxine Tharp

Maxine Tharp, 62, Logansport, died at 3:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 17, 2010, in her residence.

Born March 5, 1948, in Harlan, Ky., she was the daughter of Cecil and Arlene Mason Webb. She was married in 1972 in Logansport to Royce K. Tharp.

Maxine retired from General Tire after 34 years of service.

Mrs. Tharp enjoyed reading, watching TV and spending time with her grandchildren.

Surviving are her husband, Royce Tharp, Logansport; children, Monica Rhine and husband, Corey, Logansport, Royce Tharp II and wife, Toni, Logansport, Corby William Webb and wife, JoAnn, Florida, and Tera Lynn Remington, Florida; grandchildren, Braxton Tharp, Logansport, Kelvin Tharp and Kayla Tharp, both of Royal Center, and Kamryn Kollmar and Kenzie Tharp, both of Logansport; several other grandchildren and one great-grandchild; brothers, Arnold Webb, Florida, Cecil Webb Jr., Lima, Ohio, Jerry Webb, Jeffersonville, and Wayne D. Webb, Florida; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by one sister and four brothers.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Gundrum Funeral Home with Dr. Horace Smith officiating.

Burial will be in Walton IOOF Cemetery, Walton.

Friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
