Melinda S. Gordon, 31, of Logansport, passed away Saturday, April 20, 2013 in her residence.
Melinda was born to John and Anna Whipple Elpers in Cass County on May 14, 1981, and lived here for her entire life. On May 6, 2000 in Logansport, she married Thomas David Gordon Jr. who survives.
She started a fierce battle with breast cancer on July 16, 2012. She was loved by everyone who met her and will be missed by many.
Melinda worked as a data entry clerk for Small Parts Inc, for 14 years.
Surviving along with her husband are two sons, Damien and Xavier Gordon; daughter, Nevaeh Gordon; brother, John (Christina) Elpers; Sister, Erika Elpers; Parents, John (Anna) Elpers, all of Logansport; paternal grandmother, Shirley J. Elpers, Kewanna; father & mother in law, Thomas (Alice) Gordon, three sister in laws, Paula (David) Cummings, Stacy Gordon, and Chrissy Gordon, all of Kokomo; Uncle, Tim (Pam) Elpers, Walton; four Aunts, Becky (Harold) Stanton, Lucerne; Sarah (Duke) Zeider, Logansport; Cheryl (Jeff) Carlson, Shelbyville; Jean Kemper, Iowa; Uncle, Keith Whipple, Virginia; Nieces, Kelsey & Jaylynn Elpers; several other nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Kenny & Jane Whipple; paternal grandfather, Bert Elpers; and two uncles, Jeffery and Larry Joe Elpers.
A funeral service will be held at 10:30 AM, Wednesday, April 24, 2013 at the Refuge Worship Center Church located at 873 Spear Street in Logansport. Rev. David Payton will be officiating, burial will be in Ever-Rest Memorial Park.
Visitation will be from 4:00 - 8:00 PM Tuesday, April 23, 2013 also in the Refuge Worship Center Church and one hour prior to the services on Wednesday.
Memorials may be made to the Cass County Relay for Life.
