Michael H. Ream, 70 of Walton, Indiana and Spring Hill, Florida, passed away Wednesday, February 12, 2014 in the Oak Hill Hospital in Brooksville, Florida.
Born on February 6, 1944 , he was the son of Edward T. and Alice C. (Wise) Ream.
Michael was a high school social studies teacher for 46 years, just retiring in June of 2013.
He was a 1962 graduate of Washington Township High School. He also received his Bachelor of Science Secondary Education and Masters degree from Indiana University. While at Indiana he was an Indiana Singing Hoosier. He also enjoyed playing the piano. Michael loved cooking, traveling, politics, reading, and spending time with his family and friends.
Surviving is a life partner of 24 years, Andre Clayton, Walton, IN; the mother of his children, Martine Byers; Mother, Alice C. Ream Martin; son, Monty M. (Michele) Ream, all of Logansport, IN; daughter, Monique R. Ream Miller, Fishers, IN; two granddaughters, Kennedy Ream, Logansport, IN; and Alexandria Miller, Fishers, IN; two sisters, Kathy (Tom) Newport, Walton, IN; and Connie Hall (Marvin Stout), Logansport, IN; three nieces, Kerrie (Dave) Morris, Walton, IN; Darcie (Jerry) Hall Whitaker; and Deanne Hall, both of Indianapolis; two nephews, Troy (Cathi) Newport, Green Bay, WI; and Trent (Jill) Newport, Greenwood, IN; several nieces and nephews; and many close friends both in Florida and in Indiana.
He was preceded in death by his father in 1974.
A memorial service will be held at 7:00 PM, Thursday, February 20, 2014 in the Gundrum Funeral Home with Pastor Larry Zehring officiating.
Visitation will be held from 3:00 until 7:00 PM on Thursday, February 20, 2014.
