Services for Nellie L. Tribbett, age 87, Logansport will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Web Chapel United Methodist Church, 2550 W County Road 100 N, Logansport, IN.
She passed away at 2:10 a.m. Friday, July 25, 2008, at Millers Merry Manor.
Born on August 18, 1920, in Cass County, she was the daughter of Nellie Marie Roller. She was married on June 27, 1942, in Cass County, to Robert E. Tribbett, who survives.
Nellie was a member of Webb Chapel United Methodist Church and was very proud that she was the oldest continuous member of her church. She had served on several church committees and served as past president of the United Methodist Women. She had also been active in the Columbia PTA . She was an avid sports fan and enjoyed following her grandchildren’s sports activities.
Nellie retired in 1989, after 20 years, as a bookkeeper for John J. Hildebrandt Corporation; she had also worked at W. T. Grant and Company.
Surviving are two sons, Robert D. Tribbett, Switzerland; and Donald J. Tribbett, and wife Connie, Logansport; grandchildren, Kristen Alkire and husband, Joe, Chicago; Matthew Tribbett, Chicago; Daniel Tribbett, Noblesville; David Tribbett, Noblesville; and Jessica Tribbett, New York; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her mother and a sister.
Pastor Bill Bergstrom will officiate the service, and burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Logansport.
Visitation hours will be from 1-5 p.m. Sunday at the Gundrum Funeral Home and one hour prior to services at the church on Monday.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Webb Chapel United Methodist Church.
