Services for Patsy S. Carmichael, 67, Logansport, will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in Gundrum Funeral Home.

She died at 6:39 a.m. Wednesday, July 15, 2009, in her residence.

Born May 11, 1942, in Powell County, Ky., she was the daughter of Russell and Marie Merrill Friend. She was married May 24, 1959, in Logansport, to Kenneth E. Carmichael Sr., who survives.

She retired from Elco Textron in 2005 after 20 years of service.

Patsy enjoyed working in her flower garden and spending time with her grandchildren. She was very proud of the fact she and her husband had just celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a large gathering of friends and family.

Also surviving are children, Kenneth E. Carmichael Jr. and wife, Becky, Beth Weaver, and Timothy Carmichael, all of Logansport, Russell Carmichael and wife, Rogena, and Kevin Carmichael and wife, Jody, all of Royal Center; sister Ann Medley and husband, David, Chattanooga, Tenn., and Lois Wouster, Logansport; brother, Jerald Friend, Centerville, Iowa; aunt, Brenda Merrill, Delphi; grandchildren, Kerry Weaver and fiancé, James Stevens, Lafayette, Tia Jameson and husband, David, Logansport, Bryce Weaver, Fort Wayne, Megan Frye and husband, Jeff, Royal Center, Jessica Carmichael, Houston, Texas, Callie Carmichael, Logansport, and Abbie Carmichael, Alix Carmichael and Brandt Carmichael, all of Royal Center; and eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Samuel and Steve Friend; and two grandsons, Timothy David Carmichael and Andrew Scott Carmichael.

The Rev. Howard Wade will officiate. Burial will be in Pisgah Cemetery, Logansport.

Friends may call from 2 to 5 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
