Paula Powlen

Paula S. Powlen, 60, Logansport, died at 7:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 16, 2010, at her residence.

Born in Logansport on Jan. 25, 1949, she was the daughter of Paul E. and Isabel McManus Shanks. She married Ronald J. Powlen on Aug. 9, 1980, in Logansport.

She was a hairdresser for the Townhouse Beauty Salon for over 40 years. A member of Tri Kappa Sorority, she held various positions over the years and was a member of the Willing & Able Extension Homemakers Club. She was formerly active with the YMCA and Civic Players.

She is survived by her husband, Ron J. Powlen, Logansport; daughter, Allison J. Powlen, Fishers; and her mother, Isabel Staggs, Logansport.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Gundrum Funeral Home. Chaplain Scott Ellison will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.

Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. There will be a Tri-Kappa service following at 8 p.m.
