Philip L. Widner Sr., age 58, of Peru, Indiana, died at 10:00 am Thursday, April 17, 2014 in Dukes Memorial Hospital, Peru, IN.
Born January 14, 1956 in Lafayette, IN, he was the son of the late Harry and Jacquelyn Wortley (Jacoby) Widner. On May 9, 2008 in Monon, IN, he married Barbara R. Kelly who survives.
Philip worked as a Heavy Equipment Operator for Local Union 103. He was a member of Eagles Lodge #323
Philip enjoyed fishing and spending time with his grandchildren. He enjoyed motorcycles and was an avid race fan and a former driver. He also enjoyed dancing.
Survivors also include son, Philip (Shelby) Widner Jr. of Logansport, IN; two brothers, Harry (Deb) Widner of Logansport, IN; Chris Bradley (Donna) Widner of FL; sisters, Bonita Pigg, Monon, IN; Christiana Moss of Camden, IN, Connie (John) Tetzloff, Lafayette, IN; six grandchildren,; eight step grandchildren; three great grandchildren; three step great great grandchildren; Step Son, Kevin (Debbie) Blocher of Eagle Rock, VA; two Step Daughters, Jeanie (Greg) Brook of Mentone, IN, Robin (Chuck) Zoubul of Peru, IN;several nieces and nephews.
Philip was preceded in death by daughter, Christina Williams, father, Harry Widner, mother, Jacquelyn Wortley,Step Father John Wortley; brother, James Widner.
As per Philip's wishes he will be cremated by Cass County Crematory and his family will have a private gathering
