Phillip "Phil" Eldon Miller, 60, of Walton passed away Tuesday, June 3, 2014 at St. Joseph Hospital in Kokomo.
He was born on December 12, 1953 in Kokomo to the late Eldon L. and Mildred (Hullinger) Miller. On December 26, 1991 he married Patricia Ann Slusser who survives.
Phil was a 1972 graduate of Lewis Cass High School, he then attended Oklahoma City Junior College where he played basketball. He was a member of the Logansport Shrine Club, Scottish Rite, Indianapolis Murat Temple, Elks Lodge #66, and Son's of the American Legion. Phil was an avid golfer. He started farming corn, beans, and tomatoes at the age of 13. Over the years the Red Gold tomato relationship grew into a significant part of the Miller Farms. His passion for farming continued for the remainder of his life.
Surviving along with his wife are his children, Maghan (Kevin) Keller, Westfield; Drew (Ashlie) Miller; Taylor (Kaylee) Miller, all of Galveston; Doug (Emily) Winters; Brooke (Ron) Bryant, all of Carmel; Ashley (Todd) Hissong, Fishers; his grandchildren, Mason, Eric & Reid Keller; Raegan, Millie & Bryer Miller; Josephine Winters; Reese & Raegan Hissong; Calvin Bryant; and two expected grandchildren in the coming months; sisters, Karen (Royce) Chambers, Galveston; Peggy Petrone, Louisville, KY; Teresa (Bill) Webster, Indianapolis; several nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, June 9, 2014 in the Galveston United Methodist Church with Pastor Roy Ice officiating. Burial will follow at Ever-Rest Memorial Park, Logansport.
Visitation will be held from 2:00 - 5:00 PM Sunday, June 8, and one hour prior to the service, also at the Galveston United Methodist Church.
