LOGANSPORT â Phillip J. Showley, 72, Logansport, died at 4:10 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 7, 2011, at his residence.
Born March 9, 1939, in Fulton County, he was the son of Carl Lester and Margaret A. Apt Showley. His first marriage was to Betty Kay Lemmon, who survives. His second marriage was to Mickey Henry, who preceded him in death. His third marriage was June 28, 1981, in Logansport, to Sonja S. Chapman, who preceded him in death May 23, 2006.
Phillip retired from the Logansport State Hospital after 26 years of service. Phillip also had a paper route for the Pharos-Tribune for over 21 years.
A 1959 graduate of Grass Creek High School, he collected many things, especially electric trains, coins and stamps. Phillip enjoyed attending auctions and taking care of his garden. Phillip was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Surviving are son, Danny J. Showley, Lucerne; stepdaughter, Tracey Ward and husband, Don, Mishawaka; brother, Ed Showley and wife, Mary K., Logansport; sister, Betty Corn and husband, Herb, Rochester; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Gundrum Funeral Home with Pastor Chris Rife officiating.
Burial will be in St. Johns Cemetery, Logansport.
