Phyllis Jane (Shanks) Beeler

Phyllis Jane Beeler, age 95, of Logansport, passed away Thursday evening, Dec. 19, 2024, at Cedar Creek of Logansport.

Born May 30, 1929, in Logansport to Arthur Leon and Clara Avanelle (Slagal) Shanks. On March 2, 1952 in Logansport Phyllis married Roy Beeler who preceded her in death on Feb. 6, 2022, after nearly 70 years of marriage.

Phyllis was a former Noon Aide worker at Lincoln Middle School. She was a longtime member of the Cross Wind UM Church. She enjoyed card club and numerous other activities that keep her young at heart.

Survivors include one daughter, Laura (James) Fettig, Logansport; two sons, Roger (Sally) Beeler, Logansport; Curtis (Clara) Beeler, Logansport; four granddaughters, Crystal (Rob) Smith, Logansport; Casie (Jim) Klepinger, Logansport; Sarah McCartney, South Bend; Ashley Pennington, Logansport; one grandson, Jon (Jerica) Fettig, Peru; four great grandsons, Hunter Klepinger, Gavin Smith, Cooper Smith and James Fettig; several nieces and nephews.

Phyllis was preceded in death by one brother, Billy Gene Shanks.

A celebration of life service will be held at 1:00 pm Monday Dec. 30, 2024, in the Gundrum Funeral home with Pastor Tim Powers officiating.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Monday Dec. 30, 2024, from 11:30 am until time of services at the funeral home.
