Phyllis Conklin

Born January 30, 1942 in Logansport, Indiana, Phyllis was the daughter of the late Lester G and Grace E (Shaver) Goin.
She attended Logansport High School. In later years she attended services at Burnettsville First Baptist Church.

In 1979, Phyllis met the love of her life, Robert Conklin, Jr. They married on June 20, 1992.

She held many positions in her lifetime. In addition to wife and being mother of 7, she spent time in food service and retail sales before joining T.M. Morris from where she retired in 2005. She also spent many fun summers working at the Indiana Beach Campground.
A country girl at heart, she enjoyed gardening and canning as well as raising chickens and turkeys. Other hobbies included word search, cross word puzzles and computer games. The two things she cherished most was cooking for her family and of course date nights at the Blue Chip Casino.
A woman with a quick wit and honest outlook, she was known as a caring and devoted wife, mother and friend.
She is survived by her husband Robert, Burnettsville; four sons David Woodruff II, Westville; Timothy Woodruff, New Castle; Jeffery Woodruff, New Castle; Tony (Vickie) Woodruff, Burnettsville; three daughters Candy (Patrick) Roberts, Logansport; Lisa (Jamison) Braun, West Lafayette; Tiffany (DJ) Birnell, Logansport. She was blessed with 20 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild and one on the way.
Also surviving are sister, Carolyn Hellyer, Logansport; brother William (Sue) Hunter, Logansport; brother-in-law Richard (Maggie) Conklin Sr. Burnettsville.
She was preceded in death by her grandmother Elizabeth Belle Shaver, her sister Virginia McDonald, one grandson and one great granddaughter.
A gathering of family and friends will be held at a later date.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Gundrum Funeral Home & Crematory 1603 East Broadway, Logansport.
