Priscilla Ann Johnson, age 75, of Logansport passed away peacefully on August 1, 2010 after a courageous 5 year battle with cancer. She was born November 7, 1934 in Austin, Minnesota, to Frederick and Anna Arett. She graduated from Austin High School in 1952. Priscilla was married to Dean M. Johnson on December 14, 1957 at St. Olaf Lutheran Church in Austin. She moved to Logansport in 1968 and has made her home here since then.
Priscilla was Secretary to the Athletic Director at Logansport High School for 24 years retiring in 1994. She enjoyed working with LHS coaches, her associates, and student helpers, and was still an avid “Berries Sports” fan.
She was a member of Calvary Presbyterian Church and an active participant in Sunday morning worship.
Priscilla and Dean were campers and travelers. She visited all 50 states along with many foreign countries.
Priscilla is survived by her husband Dean, sons, Bruce A. (Rundi) Johnson, Oakdale CA, and Robert D. Johnson (friend, Kristen Nelson), Manitowoc, WI. Grandsons, Travis Johnson, Oakdale, CA., Everett, Logan, and Alex Johnson, Des Moines, IA. She is also survived by a brother, Richard (Theresia) Arett, Fremont, NE., and her twin sister, Patricia Ann (Raeburn) Hanson, Waltham, MN., brother-in-law Don A. (Joan) Johnson, Windom, MN. and four nephews, along with many cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Anna Arett, one brother, Ralph F. Arett, who was killed in service in World War II, and daughter-in-law Susan Johnson.
A celebration of her life will be held at Calvary Presbyterian Church at 11:00 AM onWednesday August 4th with burial being held in Vangen Lutheran Cemetery in Mission Hill, South Dakota. Visitation will be held on Tuesday August 3 from 4 to 8 PM at the Gundrum Funeral Home.
Memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society, Cass County “Relay for Life”, or a charity of your choice.
