Ralph A. Nelson, 95, Walton, died at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 3, 2010, in his residence.
Born July 20, 1915, in Cass County, he was the son of Roy and Esta Peters Nelson. He was married Feb. 23, 1940, in Kokomo, to Mary Louise West, who preceded in death April 7, 2009.
Ralph was a retired farmer. He also was a former Cass County Councilman and attended Upper Deer Creek Church.
Surviving are son, Dean Nelson and wife, Joyce, Walton; daughter, Jean Conner and husband, Eldon, Mexico; sister, Helen Creager, Kalamazoo, Mich.; four grandchildren, Becky Collins and husband, Kenny, Logansport, Beth Collins and husband, Rick, Galveston, and Cassie Smith and Bev Middlekauff and husband, Tim, all of Peru; nine great-grandchildren, Leslie Achor, Jessica Vandelier and husband Chris, Jeremy Wise, Katelyn Wise, Terry Smith, Taylor Smith, Travis Smith, Conner Middlekauff and Corbin Middlekauff; two great-great-grandchildren, Abbi Vandelier and Alli Vandelier; and three nieces.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Geneva Stewart, and one brother, John Nelson.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Gundrum Funeral Home with the Revs. John Rhodes and Joe Coffin officiating.
Burial will be in Center EUB Cemetery, Young America.
