Services for Raymond D. Bartunek Sr., 78, Logansport, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday in Gundrum Funeral Home.

He died at 1:57 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 27, 2008, in his residence.

Born Feb. 17, 1930, in Omaha, Neb., he was the son of James Bartunek and Marie Pochop.

He was married Oct. 12, 1987, in Las Vegas, Nev., to Beverly A. Starbuck, who survives. He retired in 1983 from Wilson Foods after working there for 35 years.

Mr. Bartunek was an Army veteran, who served in the Korean War. He was a member of the American Legion Post 60 and VFW Post 3790, and he was a lifetime member of the Eagles Lodge in Omaha, Neb.

Also surviving are his daughter, Margaret Mary “Peggy” Gonzales and husband, Rudy, Omaha, Neb.; son, Raymond Bartunek Jr. and wife, Toni, Surprise, Ariz.; daughter, Paula Jane Shields and husband, Robert, Omaha, Neb.; stepsons, Robert Bending and wife, Eunhui, Killeen, Texas, and George T. Bending and wife, Susie, Lafayette; stepdaughters, Susan K. Zehring and husband, David, Peru, Jill Ehrlich and husband, Craig, Lafayette, and Patti Lashbrook and husband, Kevin, Idaville; three grandchildren; 11 stepgrandchildren; and two stepgreat-grandchildren.

One sister and five brothers preceded in death.

Rev. Bill Shannon will officiate. Burial, with full military graveside rites, will be in Burrows Cemetery, Burrows.

Friends may call from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church, 30 South Church Street, P.O. Box 596, Quartzsite, AZ 85346 for the children’s recreation room.
